First, our congratulations on your upcoming wedding nuptials!
Our wedding package is the same as if you were to book a stay at our vacation rental house, Sea Ranch Abalone Bay in The Sea Ranch. As a 3 bedroom, 2 bath vacation rental that sleeps 6, you are obligated to follow all Sonoma County regulations and those of The Sea Ranch Home Owners Association, most especially with regard to noise. You will be held to the specific legal agreement you signed at the time of booking. This serves as an addendum to that contract.
About Our Home
Our vacation rental house may be used as a micro/elopement wedding venue. Our home is 1875 square feet. It will accommodate a simple intimate ceremony and reception of up to 6 people for overnight stays. You may have up to a total of 12 people on the day of the event for a subdued ceremony and reception following. The added people will not be allowed to remain at the house after 9 PM.
Floor Plan
You may view our home’s floor plan here. Our dining table sits only 6 people. We also have a small table in our game room that could be utilized for added space as well as a small buffet/serving table. There is a picnic table for 6 in our courtyard with added lounge chairs and teak chairs as well as a set of TV Trays. There are a pair of Adirondack chairs in the back/oceanside of the house and on the rise next to the garage. We do not provide amenities beyond what would normally come with a booking of the home as a vacation rental.
Regulations and Rules
Please note the following regulations and expectations you will be held to while using our home for you event.
Noise
Be aware that per our county vacation rental licensure and HOA rules, guest numbers are limited and neighborhood noise levels must be respected with no loud amplified music. Sea Ranch Quiet Hours are between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. every day. You may be fined if you exceed the noise level of 50db.
Light
Sea Ranch is considered a “Dark Sky” location. For that reason added lighting is not allowed.
Oceanfront / Beach Permitting
Please note you will be required to obtain a Sonoma County permit if you wish to hold your ceremony on one of the six public beaches that they manage. You should start that process at minimum a month in advance. If you desire to hold the actual ceremony on the water’s edge, you may need to contact either Sonoma County Special Permitting or The State of California.
Guest Passes to Access Private Trails
Guest passes for you and all your guests are needed to access any of the private trails; hold the ceremony on the bluff; or access any of the private beaches below. Home owners may provide up to the total number of passes authorized for their house. Our house is authorized for up to 6 people and provides 6 passes. If your added guests are also renting a home at The Sea Ranch they may utilize their host’s guest passes for access.
You may not impede nor block the use of the private trails to others at any time of your event. There may not be any added decor, trellis or other decoration items brought to the trail. For this reason, we advise you check to see what concurrent events will be held on the dates you wish to marry.
Parking
There may be no more than two cars seen outside on our property – one added car may also be parked in our garage for a total of 3. Should you have more cars requiring temporary parking, note below with the the exact number and expected length of stay. Security may need to be informed.
Any cars parked on the street will require parking hang tags. We provide 2 parking tags. However, you will need to make special arrangements with The Sea Ranch Homeowners Association Office if you need more. They will coordinate any additional parking passes you would need and alert security to be aware of your event.
Wedding Plan & Design
Should you decide on our home as your venue, I would require a detailed wedding plan/design prior to your event. You will need to make arrangements for decorations and added service, table cloths and/or wedding decor details. I may be able to direct you to local vendors if you need assistance there.
‼️ The Following Restrictions Apply
- No taping decor to walls
- Absolutely no glitter, confetti, or rice is to be used in the ceremony or dispersed on the property. Failure to comply will result in extra cleaning fees of at least $300.00 at a minimum.
- Furnishings are not to be removed from the premises for use outside or in other properties.
- All furniture must be returned to their original location should you alter the interior’s configuration.
You are reminded that our community is a quiet one respectful of the beauty and peacefulness of the surrounding nature. Your wedding event will be required to honor and respect the nuances of nature. While our fenced in courtyard is groomed, our surrounding land is not. Therefore be aware that you may encounter animals, That is the beauty of The Sea Ranch.
Potential for Noise
There is construction underway next door. We’ve taken measures to ensure your peaceful stay, yet there might be some daytime activity. Construction crew may arrive as early as 7:30 AM and quit at 4:00 PM. Your understanding is much appreciated!
Signed Agreement and Liability
As a vacation rental, we prefer our guests not rearrange the furniture. However, to accommodate the ceremony and/or reception you may, with this signed agreement, rearrange the furniture as long as all items are returned to their original location undamaged. Be aware you will be held liable for any damage incurred to the property and our return of all our home’s contents to its original location.
Food Preparation/Catering
While our kitchen is small, we have many cooking tools and appliances, ceramic dish-ware and other normal kitchen eating supplies that can be used for your reception for your special dinner. We do not provide added dishes, service ware or utensils. However, you may rent them locally or bring your own.
‼️ IMPORTANT-Proof of Third Party Liability and Insurance
While our insurance policy includes coverage for small wedding events, it does not include workers comp coverage. For that reason you will need to provide prior to the event proof of any third party vendors (caterers, bartenders, etc.) license and insurance.
Clean- up and Added Costs
You will be responsible for general clean-up after your event. Because your event would be small, your check-out expectations are the same as they would be for a vacation booking. However, should our housekeepers require added time for cleaning you will be charged accordingly.
If you wish to hire our housekeeper for cleaning prior to your event or immediate post event cleaning, that may be arranged as well. Let me know when you wish her to arrive. You will pay her hourly and directly for her time.
Note that our weekly garbage/recycling is scheduled for Tuesday. We are allotted 2 cans each of recycling and garbage. If you exceed this you will be charged.
Hold Harmless
Owner, does not assume any liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does Owner accept any responsibility or liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, cable service, electricity or plumbing, or for any loss or damage or alteration in the terms of your reservation or the use of any accommodations, amenities, or facilities that is caused by or become unavailable for use due to causes beyond its reasonable control (“Force Majeure”).
Such causes may include, but are not limited to, Acts of God or public enemy, fire, strikes, lock-out, or other labor unrest, riot, explosion, civil disobedience, declared or undeclared war, revolution, insurrection, boycotts, acts of piracy, acts of terrorism, acts of public authorities, flight delays/cancellation or airport closures, governmental orders or public health emergencies regardless of whether declared by an applicable government or health agency (including governmental and agency regulations, actions or inaction), blockade, embargo, accident, epidemic, pandemic, or quarantine (including, without limitation, those caused by any illnesses, viruses, or other diseases), delay or defaults caused by public or common carriers, or any other event beyond the reasonable control of the Owner that results in delay or inability to perform or results in a situation where it would be impractical, financially unfeasible, or commercially unviable to perform under such circumstances.
There will be no credit given for shortened stays due to late arrival or early departure for any reason and no credit given for cancellation due to weather conditions.
