As you slide the handcrafted barn door open you step down into our house’s new game room. The game room decor theme for the room is pure fun and games!
Decor
From my collection of vintage games, we selected 3 that had a fun, quirky connection to our family and our guests.
Shadowboxes of Vintage Games
My favorite that you encounter first as you peek inside is “The Exciting Game of Town and Country Traffic.” Given the exciting trip from the Bay Area to The Sea Ranch that one really resonates with us! The second game near the game table relates to our global travels and life as ex-pats, “Pirate and Traveler.”
The third game we honor in our game room represents an old-time favorite of ours, our kids, our grandkids, and undoubtedly yours too! “Chutes and Ladders” is a family staple.
Game Space
Of course, you’ll find a modern version of “Chutes and Ladders” in our game cabinet, along with many more games and puzzles to enjoy with your family. Whether you prefer a simple puzzle of just a few pieces or one that may require you to extend your vacation to complete, we have it ready for you.
Games include the traditional board games as well as cards and dice. And of course there’s Bingo and Scrabble. If you find you forget some of the rule, don’t fret! We also have a book of rules for popular card games.
A Favorite Napping Location
We hear though it’s our full length 7 foot long window bench seat that many love. It’s especially a favorite napping location for not only us but our guests as well. Its bolster cushions allow you to lean back with a favorite book or a new one selected from our library. But you may find it hard to finish the page you’re on as you will want to glance out the window to view deer feeding below you and whales swimming off into the sunset. Or perhaps you’ll be missing even those visual treats as you find the sun and The quiet that is Sea Ranch lulls you into the a that longed for cozy nap.

And There’s More Found in the Garage!

Recently added to Abalone Bay is a folding Joola Nova Table Tennis table with four paddles and six balls available for your use. The table is kept in the garage under its cover. Also added in the new garage is a drop down table for your use while playing. Play is kept in the garage to prevent the added challenge of the wind. And at night the garage door is to be closed. When play is over, the table halves store conveniently against the side wall to allow space for your car to return to the garage.
Also located in the garage are folding chairs and chaise loungers, basketball, football, and an air pump in case it’s needed.
