Getting to Your Sea Ranch Rental is Half the Fun
Your Sea Ranch road trip to oceanfront vacation rental Abalone Bay takes you from the city ruckus to the tranquility that is The Sea Ranch zen.
How will you arrive?
Perhaps you’ll travel by air in your plane to land at the Sea Ranch Airstrip. Just be sure you’ve arranged for a car for the rest of your stay with your friends or family. Another option is to contact GoRentals luxury car rental service and have a car delivered for your use.
Or perhaps you’ll opt for a more conventional means of travel- driving the breath-taking Coast/Shoreline Highway 1.
The more adventurous might challenge themselves by arriving via motorcycle, or bicycle, or even unicycle.
Did you stop along the way and take photos of the spectacular coastline of Sonoma County?
For some it may simply be the respite needed to recuperate from driving white- knuckled on what seems like the edge of the continent.
Road Hazards Along the Way
While CalTrans (California’s state agency responsible for highway construction and maintenance), keeps a good eye out for our road conditions, we recommend you always keep a watchful eye on the roads, especially during the rainy late fall – early spring time period. Tree branches, mudslides, and rocks may block the roads. During the early summer and right after the its rush you may also see CalTrans repairing and prepping for the vacationers on the road. (See Jenner Road Conditions update here)
There is also a section of the road we fondly call the S’s, just above Meyers Grade before you reach Fort Ross that frequently is obstructed as well.
But luckily these four-legged obstructions will automatically clear up…when their moo-d is right.
SEA RANCH OCEANFRONT RESIDENTS WELCOME YOU
Your Sea Ranch Rentals Road Trip has come to a successful end. You’ve picked up your welcome packet and have your keys ready.
Upon arriving at Sea Ranch Abalone Bay, your oceanfront vacation rental, you hear in the distance seals bark their welcoming hellos as a blue heron flies over head…
The low bleating of The Sea Ranch Sheep indicate they are busy “mowing” the meadow.
Farther off deer graze…
wild turkeys gobble…
a bobcat or fox slips away into the tall grass undulating in rhythm with the ocean.
You enter the gate where the porch bench beckons you to rest a spell.
You unlock the towering door of redwood with its weathered sea-green patina seashell knocker. Upon stepping inside Abalone Bay your gaze is drawn back outside towards the Sea Ranch oceanfront and the horizon beyond.
Take a moment to toast your arrival with our welcoming wine to let it all sink in.
Why This Road Trip
The beauty of each sunrise and the drama of the sun setting behind that horizon is incomparable.
And when the summer fog tippy-toes in Abalone Bay is enveloped in its mysterious calm.
As counterpoint to summer, is winter’s dramatic overture of waves jumping up to the bluff’s edge to see who is keeping watch above.
In fact, it seems all of nature is curious as to what may have brought you to Sea Ranch Abalone Bay.
