Update on Sonoma County and Sea Ranch Protocols
Plan Your Vacation With Safety in Mind
The facilities protocols included here are to help you better plan your vacation with safety in mind. Please note the required items, and needed reservations that you may enjoy the full benefits of The Sea Ranch and its facilities. We also request that you remain mindful of our Sea Ranch Community and their safety too.
Use of Masks and Social Distancing Required
All of California requires the use of a mask while in public spaces, inside and outside. Learn more about the specific guidance by the State here.
- When they are unable to maintain a six-foot distance from another person who is not a member of the individual’s own household or living unit at all times, whether indoors or outdoors.”
Weare a Mask on the Trails
This is also true for The Sea Ranch Associations which mandates people use basic nonmedical, cloth masks, including scarves and bandannas, to cover their noses and mouths when they leave home to walk the trails, go to the doctor, grocery store, or other essential places. We also remind you to maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between you and others

Bluff Trail that continues to be a social distancing problem.
Of great concern recently is the Bluff Trail that continues to be a social distancing problem. TSRA cannot manage social distancing on the entire trail so it is critical hikers and runners wear facial coverings when passing others on the trail. The best strategy is to simply wear a mask when on the trail, or, in the alternative, wear a mask around your neck and move it to your face when encountering other trail users.
Remember TSRA has miles of lesser-used trails where facial coverings may not be necessary and risks of exposure may be considerably less.
Our Sea Ranch Community thanks you for your consideration.
The virus that causes COVID-19 is most commonly transmitted through respiratory droplets when an infected person sneezes or coughs. These droplets can remain suspended in the air for up to three hours and be transmitted at least 13 feet by aerosols that are emitted by breathing or speaking, based on reports by the CDC.
Masks are effective in blocking or at least limiting, your exposure to these contagious viral droplets and aerosol particles. Because we do not always know who is infected (many coronavirus cases are asymptomatic), you should also wear a mask to protect others.
Use of the Recreation Center
The good news is the recently amended Public Health Order allows TSRA to start opening some of our recreation centers and other venues. Below are the Sea Ranch Facilities Protocols to date.
Online Reservations Needed
As you might expect, operational conditions will apply to almost every recreational venue but it’s a start. The Sea Ranch Association now utilizes an online reservation service to assure that social distancing is maintained.
Why Booking Directly Matters!
Because you book directly with us, we will provide you with up to 6 of our personal guest passes. Also, we will send you directly the reservation link prior to your arrival at Sea Ranch Abalone Bay. This will allow you access to the lap swim and tennis courts after you book your time slot.
If you are visiting our website while staying at another short term rental be sure to contact the owner or the property management to verify you will be able to access the pool.
Note there have been some users having difficulty completing their booking. If this occurs to you, just restart your browser or open the site using incognito mode. The “my bookings” site saves a cookie so you don’t have to keep checking the box but it has a bug and causes the signature error message.
Swimming
All swimmers must present a TSRA membership card (the purple-pink card) upon arriving at both pools. You MUST wear a facial covering. Masks are required when entering and leaving each facility, as well as on pool decks.
While the association recognizes this isn’t a normal or convenient situation, it is the only way we can keep the pools open and safe to use.
You may enjoy individual exercise only on a reservation basis. Expect the Del Mar pool to open for limited exercise swimming including lap swimming and aerobic exercise.
LOCKER ROOMS ARE CLOSED
It is important to remember all pool locker rooms are closed. Please come to the pool prepared to swim and leave the pool area when your swim is completed. Bring extra towels, robes, or cover-ups as needed (e.g. to keep your car seat dry on the way home).
Tennis
Tennis opens Friday, June 12. The two Del Mar courts and three Ohlson Courts will open by reservation for singles play only. Tennis players must use The Sea Ranch online facility reservation system to book tennis in one-hour blocks. The maximum allowed time before service booking is 96 hours. No restroom or locker facilities available yet

More facilities and venues continue to open. Refer back to this list to learn of any changes that occur.
