The Sea Ranch Wedding with a Reunion Attached

Perfect for A Sea Ranch Wedding and Reunion

We were thrilled our daughter, Kristina and her husband, Ian choose The Sea Ranch Lodge as the location for their The Sea Ranch wedding.  Actually, it was more a reunion with a wedding attached as our family resided in Chile and the groom’s family in Michigan, with friends and family scattered among points in between plus Europe.

Childhood Memories

Kristina chose The Sea Ranch not only for its beauty but also for the memories she had of it when she would join us on abalone dives in the area. She wanted to show her new family members that there is so much more to California than the cliches.

Nature’s Beauty

sea ranch wedding,

Here, in one spot, was a peaceful, tranquil location. Here their love of nature could encompass the ocean’s ebb and flow as the meadow grasses swayed in rhythmic cadence conducted by the sea breezes. Stalwart redwoods loom on the hills above as tall sentries over the coastal expanse below. Sea Ranch quickly became everyone’s favorite location.

Activities Galore

And for those family members who needed a bit more than nature to appease them, they found plenty to do at the three recreation centers. Swiming and tennis kept them very busy.

The playground at One Eyed Jack’s allowed the little ones to expend their pent-up energies.

Those who didn’t bring their own bikes were able to rent from The Sea Ranch Supply while kayaking the Gualala River was another adventure guests enjoyed.

And it goes without saying, our Spanish relatives enjoyed the escape to The Sea Ranch Golf Course taking on the challenge of the landing a ball between a herd of deer.

Gathering of Families at Salt Point

One of the best ideas our daughter had was to have a gathering of the clans held at Gerstle Cove in Salt Point State Park.

During the week’s stay, our we actually spent more time on the picnic preparations that included team-building games such as water carry, pinata busting, and of course blueberry pie eating.

The Sea Ranch Wedding Leads to Owning Abalone Bay

To facilitate the gathering of our families and friends for the Sea Ranch Wedding, many of whom we hadn’t seen for many yes, we rented vacation homes for the week at Sea Ranch.

It was the best idea ever!

Extended Holiday

First a visit to Pier 39 in San Francisco

Many of our family and friends made it an extended holiday. Those from far away took the opportunity to learn more about California by touring it further before or after the wedding. Their excursions included side trips along the coast as far as Santa Cruz, an extended stay at San Francisco, and sampling the Napa-Sonoma wineries.

Getting Reacquainted

By staying longer at Sea Ranchway we were able to become reacquainted with our extended families. It allowed us the precious gift of time to really know each other and have a relaxing moment or two while we prepared for the ceremony at the week’s end.

The Rest Was History

Once we arrived at Sea Ranch, we knew we were in a special place. It was then that we decided we would want to have a place where we could call our own. The next year we made the jump to purchasing Abalone Bay

We hope that our home will become your home away from home for your special gathering as well.

Memories of Our Daughter’s Sea Ranch Wedding:

Enjoy!

It all started with sisterly advice on how to make the perfect blueberry pie to impress Kristina and culminated in a fittingly outdoor adventure proposal on a lake in Chile. In a gorgeous ocean-side wedding, all focus was on the joining of two “now slightly larger” families and spending quality time together.
