A Change Is In Store For Stewarts Point Store

January 10, 2015 by Donna Martinez 1 Comment

Stewarts Point Store
We have very fond memories of Stewarts Point Store. Every time my husband and I would go diving along the Sonoma Coast we ALWAYS stopped in at Stewarts Point. I remember as though it was yesterday camping there when my daughter was only 3 months old.  She is now more than 30 with twin 2month olds. How time flies and things change!
We wish Lowell and Terry best of luck with their new enterprise.
Post by Stewarts Point Store.
Tomorrow (January 10, 2015) marks a historic day at Stewarts Point Store… This store was established in 1868 with only the Richardson’s family managing since the beginning. As of tomorrow, local management team of “Coastal Hospitality Partners, LLC” will be the new managers of Stewarts Point Store. Lowell and Terry Johnson, (Coastal Hospitality Partners, LLC of Sea Ranch,CA) are honored and delighted to be granted this amazing opportunity. Plans are underway for opening “The Restaurant at Stewarts Point” and bar above the store for lunch and dinner very soon, offering sit down dining as well as take out. Plans also include opening a gift shop and visitors center under the store. The Stewarts Point Store is a special gem on Highway 1 along the Sonoma Coast. We will keep you posted on all the exciting new changes while we embrace the unique, quaint charm that already exists. Please stop in and say hello! “Share” with your friends and “like” us on Facebook!
Contact: Terry Johnson is the General Manager of Stewarts Point Store. (terry@coastalhospitalitypartners.com).

    Hi,
I’m a professionally trained researcher/historian gathering material for a book I’m writing about current active General Stores or Country Stores within the United States. My purpose for focusing on these types of stores is to acquaint people with the fact that so many of these businesses are a focal point within communities and therefore allow for local people and travelers to have a place not only to buy goods but also to gather local news about the area they live in or are visiting.
I would like to have some information about your business so that I may include it in my book. Please know there is no charge for placement in the book.
If you are interested, can you answering the following:
    1. What is the name of your business and its address, zip code and State?
    2. When (what year) did your business begin to function within the community?
    3. Has your business been in the family and if so, for how long?
    4. Can you tell me the story behind why your business opened?
    5. What products are carried within your store (food, farming supplies, clothing, antiques, Americana items such as quilts, for example).
    6. Does your business also contain a Post Office?
    7. Does your business provide services for vehicles (gas pump, for instance)
    8. Is your business located near a National or State Park, and if so, what is the name of the Park?
    9. Is there anything else you would like to share about your business which might be of interest to readers or to people who travel within your geographic area?
    10. Do you have a photo showing your business that you would like placed in the book?
Thanks for taking the time to read this letter. Should you have any questions, please know that you can contact me: Jean Giaimis at jean_giaimis@yahoo.com
