Studio 391 is pleased to sponsor a Mushroom Identification, Walk, Talk and Tasting with DAVID ARORA on Saturday, November 25th from 10 am to 5 pm. This one-day mushroom workshop event is best suited for the beginning forager who is looking to learn and identify local, wild mushrooms although seasoned foragers are welcomed to attend.
Mushroom Workshop by Local Expert
David Arora is a local mushroom expert and a leading authority of mushrooms and their uses worldwide. He is the author of two of the most popular mushroom field guides, Mushrooms Demystified and All That The Rain That Promises and More.
Participants will meet at Studio 391 in Gualala’s, California Cypress Village and then head off to a nearby location. Pre-registration is required prior to the event. Bring sack lunch. Dress appropriately for coastal weather and walking on uneven terrain. The cost is $140 per person.
Mendocino County is home thousands of species of mushrooms which some types are edible such as chanterelles, porcinis, hedgehogs and even the extremely rare candy cap mushroom, a culinary treat with an intense maple syrup flavor, which grows on California’s North Coast.
